As her contribution to the Macmillan fund raising effort Mum organised a Bridge Drive yesterday afternoon.
Sixty eight ladies and gentleman packed into Bredfield Village Hall. The games were played in two halves, compered by Mike, with tea, sandwiches and cakes served at half time and a raffle at the end.
A superb selection of cakes had been baked by Mum and her friends and twenty seven prizes were donated to the raffle by friends and local businesses. A team of Mums friends including Lisa and I formed a production line in the kitchen and operated like a well oiled machine.
It was a fantastic afternoon and raised a total of £643 for Macmillan.
At the end Mum deservedly received many compliments on a well organised event - I overheard one lady tell her it was the best she'd been too. Thank you to all those who contributed to make it so successful but especially thanks to Mum - great job!
Now that I have seen how Mum spends her afternoons I'm looking forward to retirement!
