Going Bananas!

As well as becoming fit for the climb we also importantly want to raise as much for Macmillan Cancer Support as possible.

Macmillan have given us dates on which we can collect funds on behalf of Macmillan in Ipswich Town Centre and also outside local supermarkets.

We have decided to do this in fancy dress. The outfit that caught my eye is a banana costume....Yes! I will be going bananas for Macmillan. It is made of yellow foam and I have used my seamstress skills to stuff each end of the banana with sown in wadding (newspaper was suggested on the packaging of the outfit but I found that as I walked I was leaving a trail of crunched up newspaper in my wake - not a good look!). My only hope is that the collection days are not sunny, as the costume is made of foam, even on a mild day I will be a walking sauna.

Keen to offer support, for which I am very grateful, Mark (my husband) has also procured a banana costume and will be collecting with me.

Our first collection date is 25th September 2009 (same as Worlds Biggest Coffee morning) in Ipswich Town Centre. We will be the ones looking like a right pair of 'nanas.

If you see us, please give us a wave (and a few pennies if you can spare them).

If you would like to sponsor my efforts please log in to http://justgiving.com/ashleyhalls
