The ViPR

I continue to be amazed that although I have been having PT session every week now for the past 14 weeks, no two sessions have been the same. This leaves no room for boredom, I'm always wondering what's coming next.

Today I was introduced to the ViPR (Vitality, Performance and Reconditioning).  It is a deceptively uninteresting looking piece of equipment - like a thick rubber drainpipe about four feet long with cut out handles but has been hailed as the 'swiss army knife' of gym equipment. Lifting, thrusting and swinging the ViPR around whilst twisting, squatting and lunging gives a total body work out. A series of ViPR exercises - namely: vertical tilts, side lunges, box, thrusting squat, skater and upper cut - was alternated with a 'farmers walk'. The 'farmers walk' involved carrying one 10kg weight in each hand around a figure of eight circuit for two minutes. This circuit was repeated over and over during the course of the hour session.

I am aching all over!
